What is Ready Nepal?
A small charity working alongside communities in Nepal to develop practical, locally led solutions. Ready Nepal started from a shared connection to Nepal, the relationships we built there and a belief that lasting change comes from listening, understanding and working together.
How did Ready Nepal begin?
Our connection to Nepal began in 2022 through volunteering and the relationships we built with communities and people we met along the way. Over time, our appreciation for the country, its people and their resilience continued to grow.
In 2025, we returned to Nepal to listen, learn and better understand the challenges faced by communities and where we could contribute in a meaningful way. Through conversations with local organisations, community members and people with lived experience, our focus gradually became clearer.
Ready Nepal is at the beginning of its journey, and we are building the organisation step by step. By supporting us, you are not only helping fund future programmes, you are helping us create the foundations of a different kind of charity: one that stays small, listens carefully and works closely with the people and communities it aims to support.
Our first programme: Why migration?
For millions of Nepali families, migration abroad provides important opportunities and remains a vital source of income. However, the journey can also bring significant financial, social and emotional challenges before departure, during employment abroad and after returning home. Ready Nepal aims to support people throughout this journey, helping them prepare before they leave, plan for their return while abroad and rebuild sustainable futures when they come home.
