Our story
Ready Nepal began with a shared connection to Nepal and a desire to contribute in a meaningful way. It was not created from a predefined idea of what communities needed, but from relationships, experiences and a process of listening and learning.
Our story began in 2022, when Joe, Amandine and Andy met while volunteering in Nepal. During that time, we were inspired by the warmth of the people we met, the strength of community relationships and the resilience we witnessed in the face of challenges. The connections we built during that experience stayed with us long after we returned home.
In 2025, Joe and Amandine returned to Nepal with a simple aim: to listen and learn. We wanted to better understand the challenges faced by communities, hear from local organisations and speak with the people of Nepal themselves, rather than arrive with assumptions about what support was needed. Through these conversations and experiences, alongside learning more about Nepal’s wider challenges and opportunities, our understanding of where we could contribute gradually became clearer. We began to see an opportunity to support people throughout the migration journey, particularly those returning home and looking to rebuild sustainable futures.
Our ambition is not to provide solutions from outside, but to work alongside local organisations and communities to develop practical approaches shaped by local knowledge and experience.

Meet the Trustees
Together, we bring different experiences and perspectives to Ready Nepal, from community engagement and programme development to governance, financial management and organisational responsibility. Our shared aim is to build a charity that remains human, transparent and closely connected to the people and communities it serves.
Joe first travelled to Nepal in 2017 to volunteer and support reconstruction following the 2015 earthquake, and quickly developed a lasting connection with the country and its people. Driven by a long-standing passion for Nepal and a desire to take practical action, Joe brings energy, ideas and a hands-on approach to Ready Nepal. He is focused on developing solutions that are locally relevant, effective and built around real needs rather than simply replicating existing approaches.

Amandine: With a background in scientific research, project management and humanitarian programme management, Amandine brings experience in designing programmes, building partnerships and developing the structures needed to support responsible growth. Through her humanitarian training and experience, she is particularly interested in ensuring that programmes are carefully designed, informed by evidence and adapted to the realities of the people they aim to support. She believes that even a small organisation can create meaningful change by listening carefully, working collaboratively and keeping people at the centre of decisions.
Andy: As a chartered accountant, Andy brings expertise in financial management, governance and accountability, helping ensure Ready Nepal builds strong foundations from the beginning. He focuses on making sure decisions are thoughtful, resources are used responsibly and the organisation stays true to its values. He is particularly passionate about building a charity that creates positive impact while remaining transparent, accountable and mindful of avoiding unintended harm.
